Taekwondo Colour Belt Grades
There are 10 colour belt grades (Kups) starting with white belt through to red belt black tab. Members may only grade upon invitation from the Master Instructor. Eligibility requires a member to be able to perform the syllabus at the required level of standard and ability, plus have a good attendance record.

Taekwondo Black Belt Grades
It generally takes 3-4 years to reach black belt level. Students aged 10-14 years grade for Junior Black Belt Poom levels up to 4th Poom. Over 15 years grade for Dan levels up to 9th Dan. The timelines between Poom and Dan gradings increase the higher the level, as does the minimum age requirement. Again, members can only grade when invited by the Master Instructor and must have continued with their training for the minimum time between levels clearly showing a higher level of skill, greater understanding, and dedication to Taekwondo.
